Newbie - Which version

Evolution or Revolution?

Don’t know which one to pick - I’m new to modx, but not cms (Expression Engine, Wordpress, bit of joomla and Xoops). Project is a smallish site for a client - no unusual requirements really. I’ve got to ’read the manual’ anyhow, so does it make sense to go for the newer, or is it at the risk of less community support etc if I need?

Thanks in advance,
Tony

Sorry - I did scan through the stickies at the top - honest!! I’ll have a read of the Evo or Revo thread...

(feeling a little sheepish)

I think you’ll find the support is about the same for both versions, though Evolution has more available add-ons. If your needs are simple, I would recommend Revolution (since it’s the future of MODx), though not everyone would agree that it’s your best choice. It’s quite stable even though it’s an RC version. Evolution has a smaller footprint and a simpler permission system, but Revolution has a better, more productive UI (IMHO).

Welcome to MODx.
