FrOSCon is an Open Source conference in Germany, located at Sankt Augustin, near Bonn. This year it will be from 22th to - 23th of August.

I’m looking for people who would like to present MODx to a greater public at this conference as exhibitor. In addition a conference gives the opportunity to meet in person. FrOSCon gives all open source projects the possibility to present themselves without fees.

To give you a first impression of this conference, last year where two keynotes. The first on Saturday by Andrew S. Tanenbaum, the second on Sunday by Rasmus Lerdorf.

I am looking for people, who like to organize this event and to present MODx at this conference.

I’d love to be able to make it to Germany. Please keep me in the loop as to how this shapes up. There’s a lot of great German users out there so I’m sure we can make a strong showing!

What we need for the presentation at FrOSCon

        • Notebook and a big monitor: I take my notebook with me and have 24" monitor. A second notebook would be a plus.
        • Takeaway informations, for example flyer. Here we need high resolution graphics and we need flyer in German and English.
        • As free Wi-Fi is available at the conference, we need some showcase websites with a really good layout.
        • A minimum of three person doing the job, because everyone should have the possibility to attend to some events.
        • Your ideas

Feel free to add your ideas and suggestions.

I forgot: Last registration day is 31th of May and I’ve already got an account there for the registration.

Das wäre ja mal wieder ein guter Grund um in meine alte Heimatstätte Bonn zurückzukehren. Bin allerdings momentan etwas zu busy, um in die Vorbereitung mit einzusteigen.

Some more ideas by me wink

I think I can get someone sponsoring  the roll up display. For the rest, we need some more sponsoring.

              Cool. Bin dabei.

Hier der Link zum deutschen Forumsbeitrag.

@Ryan: Is there any offcial presentation material?

For the rest of the material I will look for sponsors. My laptop is always with me anyway.

There’s not any official materials though this seems like a good reason to start working on them!

Are there any high resolution / vector graphics of logos, banners etc. available?
I’ve got a sponsor for the roll up display, but without good graphics, it doesn’t make sense. And graphics will help for creating official materials.

To speak about a MODx flyer, we can offer the PDFs and the originals to translate them in as many languages as possible. As tool I would like to work with Scribus, because it is open source and available for different operating systems, including MacOS and Linux (that’s where its from).
I think that a really good flyer might also be helpful to introduce MODx to customers.

To speak about the text, we should start with English and use the text of the MODx website.

I would love to see a MODx brochure develop from this effort, targeting normal humans, not developers. It would be a great tool for the community at large.

To inform you about the current state

                      • On the German forum Marc decided to announce the FrOSCon as the first German MODx user meeting. But we also welcome all other MODx users there.
                      • We’ve found some sponsors
                      • Marc will do a lecture about MODx

But to register at FrOSCon, I need to give them an address of the MODx logo. This brings me to the question, which one should i take?

The new logo from the website:

Or the one from the forum:

Or is there any other image, I should use?
