When I want to search for something on the MODx site, I just do a search in Google using the site operator, rather than use the built-in site search(es), as the built in sitesearch doesn’t find everything:::
For example, do a sitesearch on the home page of modxcms.com for "piwik" and you get no results. Even more surprising, do a search for the same term from the forum page, where the search is google-powered, and you still will get no results:
http://www.google.com/custom?domains=modxcms.com&q=piwik&sa=Google+Search&sitesearch=modxcms.com&client=pub-3686375124247927&forid=1&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&cof=GALT%3A%230066CC%3BGL%3A1%3BDIV%3A%23999999%3BVLC%3A336633%3BAH%3Acenter%3BBGC%3AFFFFFF%3BLBGC%3A00DA2C%3BALC%3A0066CC%3BLC%3A0066CC%3BT%3A000000%3BGFNT%3A666666%3BGIMP%3A666666%3BFORID%3A1&hl=en
However, do a sitesearch on this domain from google and you will (correctly) get results for the search term piwik:
http://www.google.co.il/search?q=site%3Amodxcms.com+piwik&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
So, the default site search (on the home page) must have a limited document cache to search, and the custom Google search on the forum must have restrictive parameters that prevent the showing of the full results from the modxcms.com domain.
