    Hi there.

I love MODx, the management user interface is great, but this bugs me :

The "edit page" screen is presented as a series of tabbed sections :

General Page Settings META Keywords Preview

the General,Page Settings and META Keywords sections all include the content editor window and the blog editor window. The windows are located underneath a bunch of "general", "page setting" or "meta Keyword" settings - so I have to scroll down to get to them.

Suggest the edit screen display one tag for editing content, and another for editing blog content.
Also, group the current "General Settings" and "Page Settings" under a single tab. E.g.

Edit Content Edit Blog Entry Page Settings Meta Keywords Preview

Anyone else agree? or am I being too picky? Any ideas on how to change the interface? is it even possible?

All is possible with MODx ! All you tell about is some users preferences, think that the team is thinking about satisfy the most people. The team can’t do a layout per user and this is not (perhaps) the priority.
I’ll agree with you that some little things can be improve and if lot of people asked for them, I’ll be sure that it will be implemented.

I don’t find the edit screen that unintuitive. I think that some of the sections could be slightly better defined. I would, for instance, keep the content/TV editing to one tab only and combine the Keywords/Meta section into either the general editing tab or the Page Settings tab.

I don’t think it makes sense to add a [permanent] blog editing tab as only a percentage of us are using MODx as a blogging tool. Maybe a more useful feature would be for the tabs to be user/template-based so that they don’t have to be all things to all people out of the box.

Yup, that’s pretty much what I was thinking.

I agree - it’s not terribly unintuitve. Just needs a little tweeeeekn.

With a plug-in, you can modify the layout to be something else.. see http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,12493.0.html for example.

              EDIT: for now that is..
