MODx demo whacky on OpenSourceCMS.com

The back end Admin feature of the MODx demo hasn’t been working for quite some time on OpenSourceCMS.com. All you get is a blank page with an ad at the top when you login as admin. The front end also has glitches such as captcha image broken on "request an account" page, etc. Anyone searching for a CMS would not see MODx in the best light if this demo was their only experience with MODx. Maybe a team member might consider reinstalling over there or whatever it takes to make the demo work properly, as this is a valuable marketing tool for gaining new MODx users.

Ever since they added those ads banners, the demo is not working quite well indeed... I have been meaning to drop them a line about it, but did not do it yet... You’re right, having a functionnal demo is key and we’ll take care of that.

I just emailed Chanh and hopefully he’ll change up the ad scheme. Their ad "system" inserts stuff before the opening <html> tags which is a mess... maybe they’ll switch over to just wrapping everything in a frame. Heck, I’d be happy to even make them a specific manager frameset with their ad code in it if they’d promise not to touch the rest of the stuff.

Chanh reports he’ll make sure it gets fixed tonight.

It’s quite possible the demo user has been locked out at OpenSourceCMS.com. Give it time to reset and all will be back in action.
