thanks for checking in, I’m okay. I live in Auckland so was not directly affected but we’re all definitely feeling the impact of it all.
Martin (I think he’s mluff on here) lives right in Christchurch and I know that he and his family are okay since I texted him immediately after the earthquake, but I know he has been directly affected by it, so let’s all send our best thoughts and prayers out for him and for all in that area.

I really want to visit New Zealand someday. I have been to Australia twice in the last six years or so and also visited Cape Town, South Africa, a couple of months back. I was born in Cape Town, but had not been in Africa for some 18 years. Africa really gets under your skin in many ways. I miss it. But there is something about southern hemisphere night skies that is so compelling...
Anyways, I am glad you are OK and I hope for a speedy recovery for Christchurch soon...
