    Hi all,

I’m very excited to have decided to run with ModX for a bunch of sites I am setting up. So far the setup of everything had been smooth (including putting Apache/MySQL/PHPmyadmin setup on my machine).

This may be a most elementary newbie question, but though I know old school HTML hand coding, I am very new to Apache/MySQL/PHP as well as ModX.

So I am walking through the "Coding Pad" tutorial to learn how to use ModX and when I press preview to see my results, I get the following:

    « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
Error: include_once(assets/modules/quick_edit/output.class.inc.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory

this just goes on and on for another several thousand lines, which leads me to believe I just have something pointing to the wrong place on my computer.

Is this the correct interpretation? If so, where do I go to fix this basic problem? If not, please let me know what is going on.

    Thanks Much,
    Robert

I just checked and Quickedit is listed under Modules, so I assume it must be installed.

Looking back at the code I posted, I noticed the file called "output.class.inc.php" does not exist in the "assets/modules/quick_edit/..." directory. Nor is it anywhere on my machine.

What might cause this file to be missing?

        Thanks,

I found a copy of this file online and placed it into the directory to see if it would make things work. Now, when I call up a preview, instead of the error page, I get a blank page. The view source shows no information.

Thanks for any further insight into this issue.

I finally resolved this by uninstalling and reinstalling everything, upgrading to 1.0.3 in the process.

Thanks... look forward to working this CMS
