What happened to Mootools?

    Anyone ever wonders what went wrong with Mootools and why is Jquery ruling the web like that hun?

      Mootools require more real javascript skills, scare designers who really don’t like js, and there are a lot more jQuery tutorials all over the web.

        Plus the community is horrible!!
        You go ask a question in Mootools and you are
        screamed, insulted, kicked, etc. etc. out of there...

          I know, they actually told me that if I was not an experienced coder I shouldn’t waste anyone’s time. Talk about a bad community

            The ExtJS is similar to the mootools community.
            I remember that one time a user ask a little question, and a well known community member directed him to an horrible documentation on ECMAscript.
            I love the extjs library, but they are awful to newcomers... when they take time to answer.

            Now, everybody’s not like them.

              While I do like the effects it produces, I really hate programming Javascript. I’ve written raw AJAX applications, so I can do it. I’ve used several libraries, and find JQuery to be the nicest one. And nowadays I can find a plugin to do anything I want without having to do much of anything myself.

                You know something funny?
                When David tried to implement Sizzle (jQuery’s selector engine) on Mootools, then he (himself!) got confuse by the heating situation between John Resig and Valerio.

                Getting back to the point of the article….”and that is how you implement Sizzle in MooTools IF YOU WISH TO.”
