Although I am not too sure the design is the number one priority. If you have a real fancy design, but it doesn’t match your company (think clowns and balloons for a government institution), your website will not convey the right things. If your design matches your company and looks fancy, it needs to be written in such a way that it does that in all major browsers to ensure all your visitors see that. When that’s sorted out, your website will need to function in the way intended and be easy to navigate.

When it’s easy to navigate, it will need to tell your visitors the right things also. Are the texts well written, any explanatory images? You’ll want to update your website regularly too, or it might not give accurate information.

Perhaps you’d want to think about some SEO also, to ensure new visitors finding you.



I do have to agree the design is important, but labelling it as "the most important part of web development" does not sound accurate to me.

Ironically enough, this design company uses ASP.Net to create websites.

I’m sure that they don’t use ModX!
