Tomorrow we’ll see if the Dutchies can finally get into shape against Slovakia.... we won 100% with 1 opponents goal, even though we were missing our best attacker (Robben) and the level of soccer looked *nothing* like what we used to pull off.

I think the winner is whoever Blatter and FIFA decides...

Today was a cheating day!! and very low for FIFA and football.
England’s second goal was in by a meter and a half! the whole
world saw it except the men in black...

and the first Argentinian goal was another robbery...
it was not a close call! the rule says there has to be
TWO opponent players between the goal and the offender...
in this case there was none, and again everybody in the world
saw it, except the refs... in this case they even saw it in
the stadium screen... and did not reverted...

Conclusion: way too much money involved in this game and FIFA
will do whatever to make as much as they can. But since Korea/Japan
there have been amazingly biased calls against some teams (probably
better to say, in favor of some teams) and soon, if changes are
not made, it is not going to be worth it to watch...

Cheated so far in this Cup: Ireland, USA, Chile, England and Mexico...

The USA was cheated out of *two* goals. It’s amazing to me that a goal can be disallowed with no reason given -- ever.

That said, the USA played so badly that they didn’t deserve to make it any further.

Yes Bob, and the amazing thing is that a few
electronic tags in the jerseys (for offsides)
and in the ball & goal (for goals, this was already
trialed with success in junior world cups) will
fix all the wrong calls.

FIFA knows it can be fixed fast and easily, but it
goes against its interests.

Another is to use instant replay. FIFAs argument is
that it will stop play. Well, in every erroneous call
so far, the play was already stopped...

Cheated so far in this Cup: Ireland, USA, Chile, England and Mexico...

Hey, don’t forget mighty New Zealand! We drew with Italy because a penalty that should never have been awarded, and drew with Slovakia because of an offside goal. Should have finished top of the group on 7 points!
Gutted. Still, to be knocked out undefeated is still a huge achievement for the All Whites.
And yes, the England goal was a shocker. Embarrassing for FIFA I would have thought.

So, which sporting event is more compromised, FiFA World Cup, or the upcoming Tour De France? I vote for the Word Cup.
