When Chrome runs as good on Ubuntu as it does on my vista64, I’ll change "grub" to boot Ubuntu first!

I’m on Vista because it was the only way I could have an affordable notebook computer with a 20" screen and run PhpED.

Yup, I can do basically anything you can do on a Netbook using linux on it. I even rebadged it to use my logos, changed the theme to my colors, etc. Here is a screenshot of my current setup (not showing the custom GDM login theme, or the window decorations).

My only concern, is that their latest update slowed things down a bit performance-wise.

My main workhorse machine is running Arch linux, really appreciate the philosophy of the distro.

Secondary is a Mac Mini, mainly for graphics work, and compatibility testing things not available in the Linux world. Keep a bootcamp install of Windows on it as well primarily for testing IE. The new Minis in particular are very capable little machines.

Just got a netbook, which is running CrunchBang linux. Great distro, lean and runs great on a netbook while providing the full Ubuntu resources. Will likely end up setting Arch up on it, just need to find the time and Crunchbang was faster to get started with. Really do like the CrunchBang config (openbox, tint2, etc) and will likely borrow from it quite a bit when I make Arch the underlying distro. Agree with bloodstarstudios, netbook works great for dev work, at least the text and web based portions.

On the server side, I’ve typically run Debian on my VPS instances. I’m considering Arch for that as well, although I would want to adjust the package management settings quite a bit, as a rolling release system the default behavior isn’t as ideal for a server.

I suppose my bias towards Arch is pretty clear

As of now, my Netbook is running Moblin. I was actually able to get MP3s working on it, so it should work pretty well for me.

Not necessarily for web dev, but I’ve now officially moved to Linux Mint. I’m loving every bit of it!

Have Vista on my laptop and Windows 7 RC on my desktop. Love Windows 7, hate Vista, although I have to say my Thinkpad has been very quick with recovering from the Vista hangs and crashes. Can’t wait for Windows 7 final to be out.
