Twitter group Modx support experiment

Let me first say, I really like twitter, but I don’t really want to follow everyone. Seeing post about breakfast or TV shows is of little appeal to me personally.
But I really would like have quick and dirt discoveries / Q&A on Twitter. Such as you have been working for an hour on getting a box to look right, and want a 2nd opinion or help with a property which isn’t behaving.
So those don’t really need whole forum post, and I personally don’t have the time to wade through the 150 posts of RSS feed all day from the forum. (I do skim through it, but really its late before bed.)
so I setup a twitter.com/modxers - e.g. modx users group. To post those quickie questions, and hopefully save time.
What you have to do, is friend modxers and then after he / I friend you back (I will be more than happy to give someone else the friending ability, since you guys know each other much better than I )
all you have to do is send a DM to modxers - Then it automatically posts a message to the group.

In theory this is so the stream doesn’t get as congested, and well I will pay more attention to it. So that is my thinking. I don’t know if it will work, but I thought it was worth a try.
Any spam, and we can just unfriend the offending user. Seems like the best twitter group, that I can come up with today.

To get it started I will need a seed group / Anyone want to try the experiment?

This also will not replace the forum, But It may be a good place for the small stuff.

If the Modx community wants me to pull it down, I will be more than happy to do so too.

Nice idea, but I am not sure I understand every step of your process especially this one : "all you have to do is send a DM to modxers - Then it automatically posts a message to the group. " Also, how does it differ from http://www.twibes.com/group/MODx?id=886170 ?

Personnally, I don’t even use twibe this much, just a simple modx search which I keep an eye on very often... I do more twitter support than forum support these days !

DM’s converted to Tweets are integrated into your stream. No need to follow other users, and only see specific info for the topics of modx. All in all I think it is a much better solution.
The only key to remember is to reply to a topic send a DM to modxers instead of directly to the other person.
Twibe group doesn’t go into my w/out following each person.

OK didn’t know that (Sorry to be thick but DM converted to tweet is a native Twitter feature or is it code on your end ?), indeed then why not count me in for a trial !

DM to the Tweet is done via grouptweet so it is preatty cool. The only thing that everyone will have to remember is to tweet back you have to DM (Direct Message) back modxers so they can see the reply.
