After saving up for the last few years, I finally bought a kickass notebook to be able to code and do uni. work in (since most of my classes are programming-related).

Only thing missing from those specs is that this is a 64-bit OS, to take advantage of the 4 GB of RAM. smiley As well as it being a widescreen 17 inch.

The only meh thing is that, due to a freak accident when uninstalling some programs on the old comp., most of my passwords, and all of my bookmarks were lost, so I have to recreate them. tongue

You should use a online bookmark storage then! So you can’t lose your bookmarks wink
I would kill myself for losing my bookmarks shocked All my resources are in there.

            But uhm... nice specs grin

Ah, trusting youth! No way do I trust my personal information to anybody else’s servers. Just a brief search would show just how much of your "private" information is being passed around. You US residents are at high risk of having some vague shadow agency deciding that your bookmarked sites indicate you have an unhealthy interest in something they don’t approve of, and whoever is hosting your data is prohibited from even letting you know their servers are being searched.

There’s plenty of ways to back up data, from usb keys to cds and dvds.

@Soshite - congratulations. It’s always exciting to get a new computer.

I have all my pwds and bookmarks in a single Roboform folder. They can be used and managed in any browser and RF has a backup button so I can easily save them to a dedicated flash drive. In fact, there’s now a flash-drive version of Roboform so you can have them *and* RF on any computer with a USB port.
