ICQ?

I just opened Firefox and it hung on trying to connect to status.icq.com. Now the funny thing is that I have never installed ICQ on this computer. The closest thing I have is Fire, which wasn’t running, and Adium, which also wasn’t running. I didn’t find anything relevant from Google. Maybe somebody else has some idea what that was about?

I’m gonna have to guess it was some gremlins using your computer while you were away!

Maybe Fx uses icq for it’s update agent and somehow it got confutzlegated?

Maybe it’s time to upgrade to Leopard.

this forum also looks at icq when you visited a topic with somone on there that has icq than the server will connect to icq to see if that person is online.

When you open Firefox which pages loaded?

Service status.icq.com is used to determine the online status in ICQ, such as in this forum ICQ icon on the left of my post

Ah, that may have been it, I was opening the forums. I have my localhost as home page, but my local server wasn’t running at the moment, and I always open the forums first thing anyway.
