I’ve seen a lot of good shows, heard a lot of Good drummers over the years. Always had a soft spot for West African drummers for intense yet totally grounded polyrhythms and level of dedication to the craft.
Last night I had the privilege of moving a little northward to the desert-inspired sounds of Tinariwen in Toronto.
For anyone reading this who gets inspired by total and unwavering commitment to a groove, I highly recommend checking these guys out. Blew my mind.
Just do a google search for Tinariwen - I don’t want anyone thinking that I made their site.
