Maybe it’s no news to you, but I just came accross this website dedicated to open source apps for Mac and there are quite a few great finds in there...
Thought I’d share, since Mac users are numerous among MODx users

As an FYI for other Mac users who might be reading this thread, since OS X is a powerful Unix OS underneath its pretty exterior, pretty much any Open Source app written for Linux or BSD can be compiled or modified pretty easily to run on a Mac as well. This is especially important for non-GUI apps (i.e., Apache web server, Mysql database, or any other command line process).

And with powerful, FREE!!! tools included with Mac OS X on the developers disc (Xcode, Interface Builder, etc...) a Mac user can easily create a rich, Aqua user interface for those *NIX command line utilies!
