One unusual thing about this site is that the keyword gets you your site in an iframe above the search results - and you can specify the page. It is probably worthwhile having a special landing page that suits the width/height and leads people into the site. Thankfully, MODx makes that simple! This does make dynamic advertising really easy to manage.
Whether this will turn out to be worthwhile in the long term, I can’t really say, but what is certain is that keywords are being snapped up all the time. Now, whilst the site calls them keywords, it’s actually "complete search query" that you get - if you have "banana", your ad doesn’t show if you type "banana milkshake", and if you have "banana milkshake", "banana milkshake recipe" doesn’t show your ad. Bear that in mind when picking your free "keyword".
That said, there are still lots of single word keywords available. It’s a land grab at the moment, it is probably just worth grabbing one now and then figuring out what to do with it. Even if you’re just stopping spammers from getting your name, it seems worth the time - particularly right now while there’s a buzz around this.
