shows what’s left to be done (most importantly the import-from-2.2-tool), and so we have a good idea of what osCommerce 3 will be like.
I’ve had a quick look around a new install, to see how it compares to the 2.2 (which I am familiar with, although the version I use has become heavily modded over the years).
It is an improvement; there’s still illogical things about the place, and some new oddities - for example the admin has a list of "Boxes" (site elements) that can be switched on and off and configured; clicking the ticked box in the status column for "Languages" reloads the page with Languages selected, but no change to the status - a hangover from the 2.2 style where that would show the Info in a box on the right. One has to click the "Remove Module" icon.
Actually the use of a tick in a box to denote status is all over osC’s backend! It’s counter-intuitive.
I’ve not looked at the code yet, to see what shape that’s in...
