I am having problems with mysql I got it updated to 4.1.15 standard but this version hase a bug in a way that now often my content tabel gets damaged. my suport desk tels me that this is the only version in the 4.1.x serie that is suitable for plesk but I can not belive that I kan not use a newer version this version is from 2003...
So for now I asked them to roll back my old version 3.23.58 but I would reder have a newer version.. and I do not know if this is posible to rollback an mysql installation...
As you already suspected, the answer you got was bogus. I do not know the in’s and out’s of Plesk, but it should most certainly be possible to use a newer MySQL version with Plesk 7.5.4. My internet hoster uses Plesk 7.1.5 in combination with MySQL 4.3.10, so there you go. Maybe you should get in touch with
SWSoft, the makers of Plesk, or simply start by visiting their website.

MySQL 4.3.10 does not exist. PHP 4.3.10 does and is the default Plesk install. You can run PHP5.0.x with Plesk, but you cannot run MySQL 5.0.x with Plesk. PSA is VERY picky about what will and will not work with it. I run a version of MySQL in the 4.1.xx series with PSA.

Oops… That was quite a slip-up. Sorry folks! Checked again and found that ’my’ Plesk version is actually running MySQL 3.23.49. That’s quite a difference (and explains a lot about the strange behavior this alleged MySQL 4.x server displayed).
I’ve just visited the SWSoft website and it seems that their new Plesk 8.0 (for *nix) supports MySQL 4.1.

ok I got it fixed by exporting and re importing all databases I had running (over 50) until now no errors anymore
