Wiki question

Hey .. can anyone recommend a really good free easy for the end user to use wiki ? preferably with some kind of html editor ?

ive tried media wiki .. for some reason it wont work on my server .. any help would be mega appreciated

Really simple Wiki (but I’d have to check if any doc exist in english, it’s a french software. The interface is english localized though) : ChuWiki

One of my favorite is DocuWiki, nice an clean but I don’t know about html editor... check the extensions. The other one is WikkaWiki, real powerful lot of good stuff.

Not tested (but that’s on my todo list) : WikePage, looks a bit more like it could fit your needs.

Whatever you choose, I think it’s gonna be hard to find a html editor for a wiki...

Maybe it’s a moot point by now based on the @zi comment below. Could someone please tell the community whether we should be offering suggestions for an interim solution to the "documentation conundrum"? I for one am getting mixed signals and have no interest in researching potential wiki solutions if "something" is in the works.

The drawback here is the subscription price for a large user base (up to $34.95/mo.) I’m sure there are open source wiki’s out there that support API’s and/or the ability to pull data from the wiki into another web page. How cool would it be to have an up-to-date ModX wiki that could be accessed within the ModX manager or anywhere else on the site?!?!?

Although, I see this discussion has been active in the past, I will try to find a better forum post to keep this discussion going. I don’t want to add confusion to this post, just reponding thrash.
