I thought it was "mod" as in "modification"
I was referring to the phonetics, but yes you are correct it stands for modification.

Funny thing, when I got my ID card, they spelled my name "susn" (not a lot of vowels in Hebrew), when most people spell it "suzn". In Hebew, "sus" is horse. So I get a lot of comments on my name, and nobody pronounces it as it is pronounced in English. (soo-SAN, instead of SU-zan).
Mod .. as in "Mods n’ Rockers" yeah!!
