I tried to make the diff thing work in TextMate but it appears it’s not as easy to run as it was with TextPad/Win... anyone can advise me on a nice version comparison tool ? Or a text-editor that does have this ?

    Thanks !

Create a free developer account at developer.apple.com and go grab a copy of the latest Xcode tools. It’s a huge download, but in it you’ll find FileMerge which is a great diff tool. And it works with SVNx, too. smiley

                David,

If you’re looking to find the difference between 2 files on the file system, and if you’re comfortable working from the command line, the Unix "diff" utility is ridiculously powerful and is what I use all time (via TextMate).
Also, I haven’t used this tool, but have heard good things about it: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19069

Otherwise, if you’re looking at difference between 2 different versions of code in SNV, some of the GUI SVN tool tools have a nice "diff" facility.

                Good luck!

Xcode comes on the install DVD you got with your MBP.

The best text editor for the Mac is BBEdit it has what you need plus a lot more. That’s not just my opinion, all reviews always confirm it. There is also TextWrangler (a freeware version of BBEdit) you can find them both at the BareBones website http://barebones.com

To compare two documents, in BBEdit, go to the "Search" menu and select "Find Differences..." or "Compare Two Front Documents" or "Compare against Disk File".

                    Hope that helps

@Mark : didn’t check the CDs, nice tip...

@vbrilon : I had come accross with the diff command line stuff, but not my thing tongue

@cacho : I have downloaded BBEdit, but I find the diff thing is not very nice...
