Great topic. I am looking for a good set of pens. I like .5 mm line widths, and something that doesn’t smudge quickly. Oh, and not something I’d cry over when the inevitable leave-behind happens.

Pilot V Razor Point Extra Fine felt tip. Lightweight, plastic, disposable. Multiple colors, depending on mood and need. Can’t stand gels, they always smear on me . . .

Whichever pen my work colleagues choose to foolishly leave unattended on their desks With my scrawly handwriting, it really doesn’t matter which pen I use ...

pen whats a pen?? is it from the same era that contains long play records and cassetetapes? lol

I am using any pen that is in reach like garryn say’s sind the keybord is there my hands are not realy used to writing any more.

We’re opposites on the smudge. I like a pen to really lay down ink. If it takes fanning the paper for a minute to dry that’s good with me. I particularly like fountain pens. They just seem more artistic.

But I agree on the cheap. I don’t want to sell a kidney to buy a pen I’ll wind up leaving behind.


That’s a cheapy at staples.

After I sold my car and upgraded my computers, all I had left from 24 years of marriage was a very pretty oversized promotional pen advertising some Pfizer drug or another. I had forgotten about it, and can’t find it now. Well, it has been 12 years, including a move half-way around the world! It did write smoothly, though.

Foutain pens are my choice. I second the "even if I have to wave it around." My current favorite is a Pelican Fine Point. Its cheap. Coming in around 8 bucks. Inexpensive ink replacement. The one draw back is a little lightness to the feel that prevents it feeling "montblancish".

Barring that, I use a waterman cheapo that I got for christmas with a medium nib.

I do like the Pilot felt tip Razoredge.

Most ink writing I do is done with whatever I can lay hand on.


My altime favourite is my Wacom Wireless Bluetooth 6X8 tablet pen. Muah. nothing beats it for Flash work or Photoshop.
