I despise sites that play music and otherwise annoy me, but it has occurred to me that with AJAX functionality mimicing desktop apps, appropriate sounds on various actions would not be such a bad thing. So I did a bit of searching and found this site:

As much as I really like Cyberduck for an FTP client, I miss the sound that was played on completion of uploads or downloads in RBrowser Lite. It was while thinking of this that it occurred to me that sometimes sounds aren’t annoying or intrusive. As you say, used wisely.
