RoundCube is just the nicest php/mysql webmail I have ever come accross, thought I would share... I am going to install it somewhere and setup my accounts, tired of squirrel mail @my hosting service...
And yeah, forgot to mention it : it’s IMAP only

I like their template. Hm. I feel a burst of creativity...
Last I checked there was really nothing too amazing about RoundCube. No AJAX, little javascript and not a lot of features. The one thing it really has going for it is the very clean and polished interface. I’ve heard a lot about roundCube though and it just goes to show you that you can get a lot of attention on interface design alone.
@Ryan: thanks, didn’t know that one, it looks like a web version of Outlook it has calendar and many more features sure. The demo is a little bit slow though...
@Adam: well you’re right but nevertheless it’s an improvement over existing solution. RoundCube lacks POP support and the sugar coating of AJAX, sure, but as you say interface is attracting the masses
(I guess when MODx gets its new interface, it will bring a lot of new attention

RoundCube actually does seem to have some AJAX and its interface ROCKS! @mail is the best webmail client out there but its expensive!
Has anyone tried to install and use Zimbra?
If you ask me the Zimbra and RoundCube people should get together. Zimbra hase the features and AJAX functionality but I find the interface cluttered and busy while RoundCube has a great interface but is lacking in AJAX and features. Webmail like that might just be enought to drag me away from gmail.
I like the look of zimbra, except that we can’t use it as roundcube, right? Basically I need to have administrative priviledge in my hosting, to be able to install this.
Anybody know a better webmail client, other than horde and squiremail? I’m using roundcube, but it lacks all the necessary features, because it’s young in terms of development.
Btw, the only AJAX that I can figure out from roundcube is the drag and drop email to folder selection, as well as error message, login/logout message, add new contact, and maybe more, but I didn’t realize it, because of its prettyness...
