Yeah I try to keep a bookmark list of places I can get freebie photos of various things. The US government is a good source... course it’s not free if you consider taxes paid for them, but that’s what makes them available so I won’t complain. Anyway, not that anyone asked, but here are a few other sources:

stock.xchng - community based, but pro style site (many great images) can be SLOW
US dept of Agriculture - animals and plants
Dreamstime - dirt cheap stock photography
Morguefile - spooky name, free imagery
