I haven’t heard from two of my boys for over 10 years, since shortly before I came to Israel. My youngest boy located me here through a Google search, and left me a PM with his email. He’ll be 30 this fall. Now I’ve got a couple of pictures, and know how he’s doing.

Well, he’s only had a computer for a few weeks now; it’s been about 12 years since he left home and my crappy cheap (well, relatively, at the time) Intel 486/33 running a Maximus BBS on OS/2 and working for the online gaming company The Imagination Network. I guess one of the searches he made for me turned up my activity here, so he left me a PM with his email address.
Even though it’s been years since I was building my 386 (AMD DX40; he helped me, I was mounting the mobo wrong, and it would only beep at me for four days, until he spotted the problem!)) and the 486, he was given an old Pentium 133 and tore it down and put it back together, then bought some parts and built himself a hot Athlon game machine a few weeks ago. Heh. That’s my son! Well, I would be happier if he had finished high school! But he was one of the too-bright kids that got completely shut off by the crappy school system. Anyway, he has finally settled down a lot, and should be doing OK now. He always could do whatever he put his mind to doing, even as a little kid. 30 is a bit old to be starting out in life, but better late than never.

No, he’s not using it ... or anything else, he hasn’t been on a computer since he left home 12 years ago. I’m hoping to get him interested in starting to learn, though; he was very good at what he was interested in then. I could use some help here!
He’s in Tennessee, USA, and I’m in Israel, so we may never see one another again, unless somebody gets some money!
I glad that this type of thing happens!
I’m really glad for the both of you!
