I was in the admin interface and looking to see what photos were in one of my folders. Then next time I navigated back to it all of the photos were gone. Now when I try to reupload photos into that folder, I am able to choose them and upload them, it even says upload successful, but when I navigate away, they disappear. I tried creating a new folder and had the same results. Any idea what could be causing this?
One sophisticated guess: The file names uses weird characters!
...This gives you javascript error in FCKeditor!?
Open up FTP client and rename them.
- For special characters use only - (dash) and _ (under score)
- Use lower case english
- Use NO space.
Thanks, but I’m using very simple naming like "name.jpg". Also, I ended up posting this in another section as well, because I thought this might have been the wrong area to post this.
Here we go, I’ll do this to the best of my ability.
Web Server:

MODx:
Version 1.0.0
I strongly suggest to upgrade to
MODx 1.0.3 immediately, not just only
to see if that solves your problems, but also for security improvments.
Since 1.0.0:

http://svn.modxcms.com/svn/tattoo/tattoo/releases/1.0.3/install/changelog.txt
...Did it fail when you where using MODx File manager or FCK Editor?
Can you upload files with FTP and see them in File Manager and FCK Editor?
Are you logged in as Manager with role 1?
It failed when using MODx File Manager, and I couldn’t upload through FTP. Yes I am logged in as Manager Role 1.
A new layer has been added to the problem. I was able to upload a picture into a directory at work but when I got home it didn’t work again and what I had uploaded disappeared after trying at home. The only difference I can think of is that I was hard wired into the internet at work, but on wireless at home.
I plan to upgrade to the newer version of MODx tomorrow. I was able to move all of my files from the server to a local backup. However, I don’t see a way from my hosting company to backup my database.

...and I couldn’t upload through FTP...
Files should be set to CHMOD 0644 and folders 0755 (file permission) as you are running FastCGI
You should contact your host about this! You mean you can log in with a ftp client (e.g. FileZilla)
-> see the directories -> but NOT upload new files!?
How did you upload MODx? Can you transfer files back to your hard drive?
...you can backup the database from inside MODx!

Sorry for the confusion, I can upload via FTP, but they still get deleted if I try to open up that directory in File manager.
I upgraded to 1.0.3 but am still having problems. >:(
The wierd thing is that I can go to Reports/Manager Actions and look at all of my actions and it shows me uploading the files and them immediately deleting them, but I AM NOT DELETING THEM.
