"Personal Online Database" for many users - possible?

Hello,

i want to create a web-application with the following features:

- Unlimited Users can signup
- User can add own datasets via a general predefined form (e.g. "Dataset A, Dataset B ...)
- Users can only view their own added content
- Users have their own "dashboard" with a overview of their added datasets.

Is this possible with modxCMS?

Thank’s a lot & best regards,
Julian

WebloginPE & some customisation could probably do it.

For "Unlimited" users it is better to use the Revo version of MODx

eFormtoDB can do #2

Roles, permissions and groups will handle #3

WebloginPE and above can make #4 as bunk58 mentions...

Thank you really for your very fast support!

Best regards,
Julian

Believe me, if you
1. Install MODx http://codingpad.maryspad.com/2009/03/28/building-a-website-with-modx-for-newbies-part-1-introduction/
2. Get a feeling over it http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,43702.0.html
3. And try http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,31363.msg190208.html#msg190208

No sarcasm. I strongly oppose wage sell-out.
If you are doing this for somebody else you need to
tell that person/company to pay you decent money.

I charge minimum 1500 US dollar for any MODx project.
That is excluded design (css/xhtml).

Hi All

I hate to throw a spanner in the works but WebloginPE is not available for Revo.

On OpenGeek’s advice I would not suggest using WebloginPE for *unlimited users* WebloginPE does not scale to well as is.

I do not know your requirements for the login section but the existing login is designed to scale with Revo and covers the usual requirements with possible mods to the built in registration form for fields not in default template but in database.

You might like to take a look at (quite a long post) :-

I also do not think you will get many takers at $100

I think Mr Haw was refering to 2+ hrs for either him to do the job or for you or for you to download the files and go through the tutorial and install MODx yourself and read what to do next. (then your work begins)

With the help of the community (super rockstar developers) when you get stuck but I am afraid you will have to do quite a lot of reading and learning.

Mr Haw has given you a good start it is up to you to deceide if you have the time to learn or the money to pay someone else for the work.

Fully agree with @allanb
But with regular WebLogin there is no known restriction or limit on the numbers of web users(!)
The problem for EVO is the number of resources (documents).

With existing snippets (webprofile etc.) it’s possible to use just one resource for presenting all the
data and content.
