Evo or Revo.... now?

Hi guys,

I’ve read messages about folks interested in taking their existing sites from Evo to Revo. And I read the thread on ’Evo or Revo’ above that was posted a year ago. But what about now that RC-1 is out?

If one was preparing to put together a brand new Modx site, is it still advisable to stick with the old and proven and reliable 1.0.3, and worry about the headache of upgrading later on down the road?

Just trying to get some ideas here, and all comments are appreciated!

Cris

IMO
Revo is like the sports version of Evo. Evo won’t die or stop
evolve. Evo is at the moment more stable than Revo RC1. You’ll
also find way more spare parts available for Evo.

BUT

No matter what code you use you will need to upgrade it
on a regular basis for improved security and functionality.
My first live MODx pages was built with MODx 095 very un-stable

I won’t upgrade my client Evo sites to Revo unless:
1) They want something Evo can’t but Revo can.
2) I’ve reached the stage where I do most things way faster and simple in Revo.

When I have built some cool personal sites in Revo (xampp) and the stable version is
released I will sure start new projects side by side with EVO projects.

Revolution is the FUTURE of MODx for sure.
