    Hallo,

I’ve modx 1.0.2 running well. And I tried to upgrade to 1.0.3. I got this error :

CREATE command denied to user ’myadmin’@’localhost’ for table ’modx_active_users’ during the execution of SQL statement CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `modx_active_users` ( `internalKey` int(9) NOT NULL default ’0’, `username` varchar(50) NOT NULL default ’’, `lasthit` int(20) NOT NULL default ’0’, `id` int(10) default NULL, `action` varchar(10) NOT NULL default ’’, `ip` varchar(20) NOT NULL default ’’, PRIMARY KEY (`internalKey`) ) TYPE=MyISAM COMMENT=’Contains data about active users.’.

CREATE command denied to user ’myadmin’@’localhost’ for table ’modx_categories’ during the execution of SQL statement CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `modx_categories` ( `id` integer NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `category` varchar(45) NOT NULL DEFAULT ’’, PRIMARY KEY(`id`) ) Type=MyISAM COMMENT=’Categories to be used snippets,tv,chunks, etc’.

    ... etc ... etc ...

Does it mean? Is it an database authentication problem or the prefix of my tables is not standart ’modx_’ cause this ?

    Thanks.

      Hi Pedma

This looks like a Database permissions problem.

The database user needs to have full access rights on the database when performing an install/upgrade so that tables can be dropped or created.

      From: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Installation_Guide
Note: you must set sufficient rights for the user for that database (eg. create table, select, insert, update, delete , etc. Safe bet is to put all rights)

      Hope this helps

If you used a different table prefix, I believe you need to upgrade using the "advanced upgrade" option. You certainly don’t want all the default modx_... tables installed and being used!

          Hi Gerard & Susan,

Wow, quick reply ... smiley Many thanks. Modx forum is great ... smiley
Btw, the advance upgrade (button/link) can be seen as we access the install/upgrade page ?

          Thanks.

            Hi Pedma

Once you have selected your language on the install/upgrade screen, you should be presented with 3 options:

            New Installation
            Upgrade Existing Install
            Advanced Upgrade

Selecting advanced upgrade, allows you to set the table prefix etc.

            Cheers

            Gerard
