Hello everyone. I apologize in advance if this isn’t the right place to post, but I think something strange is happening with the forum search functionality. In essence, when searching for any given term using the forum’s search page (http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?action=search), the results won’t include recent forum entries.

Here’s the repro. In my case, I was looking for up to date tutorials on how to implement intermediate blogging functionality within MODX.

step 1: Go to the site’s search page. http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?action=search
step 2: In the field named "Search for:" enter the following term "blog", leaving all search options in their default states, and click "search".

At this point, the listed search results will only include 5 pages with entries dating back to 2005. Shouldn’t the search feature include entries such as these? Am I missing something important when searching?

Please let me know if this helps and also, if you could point me to an updated tutorial or document on how to blog with MODX Evo tongue (the wiki tutorial is for the 9.x series, and I’m still struggling with pkBlog).

Thanks for your time and help!

The forum search have big issues.

So I recommend searching the forums with Google
      Example: http://www.google.se/search?hl=en&q=site:modxcms.com/forums+%22forum+search%22

If you use Firefox see this: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,30286.msg183962.html#msg183962

Understood... I guess I’ll go the Google way.

        Much appreciated. Thanks!

OK, I’ve lost my ability to find anything in the forums. I’ve tried several of the remedies mentioned in various posts on this topic (which took me forever to find) with little success. The Google search approach is fantastic--when it works. However, most of the time I get this message from Google.

          We’re sorry...

... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can’t process your request right now.
See Google Help for more information.

Which means I have no way to find anything. I know there is so much useful information in the forums, but I can’t get to it. This is so frustrating.

Since I’m on the topic, I also have been frustrated by the "view recent posts" function. It shows me only one page of results. I used to be able to see all the recent post since I logged in last. I really miss this.

I hope a workable solution is available soon. I feel like I’m on my own now, unable to really participate in the forums. There is so much going on but I feel I’m being left behind. . .
