That book is such a mixed bag. Its a good resource for a good overview. Some chapters are really good while others have holes large enough to drive a truck through. Some of the snippet discussion is already outdated. Some of the topics like the major snippets and TV’s are way too brief. The chapter on roles, users, logins and the like is really good though.
It would be nice to have a few more published choices when it comes to MODx books. There is definitely room in bookstores for that definitive MODx book(s)...

I’m working on it.
It’s almost 1,000 MS pages long in Word now and I’m hoping to finish the first draft in the next week or so.
i would buy a book writen by a MODx god! someone who is super active in the forums / development.
But i dont think i would be easily tempted to buy another packt book (on any subjuect). both the modx and zencart books have turned out to be not as good as online guides/fourms. Both OK, just better info available online.
still i suppose by the time a book has been drafted, reviewed, edited, approved, printed and available technology will have moved on.
loving all the links to MODx tutorials, thanks everyone!
