I’d been wondering why my site wasn’t being indexed properly by Google. Then today I found out why. The webmaster tools validator throws up a 500 Internal Server error, and so does the W3C validator. But I can see my site perfectly if I visit it!

I did a search on these forums and it had occured before due to the Ajax search highlight plugin. So I disabled it, but I am still getting the errors. I’m tearing my hair out on this one. There doesn’t seem to be any logical reason for it.

What is the address for the site in question? What other plugins do you have installed outside of the ones typically provided?

Eureka! I’ve just discovered the culprit. A pagination plugin call Pip. I disabled it and it worked fine. It was also causing problems with my RSS feeds. Rather strange because I wasn’t really using it.
