I’m basically a web designer who knows a little bit about coding. I’m working on a site for a client who wants to keep a list of their vehicle inventory online for people to view (not selling, just showing). There would probably be about 10 fields or so that the client would like to be able to fill out on each vehicle, along with a few images to go with each one.

Each product would get its own page, but the basics for each would be listed on the homepage in a list.

Is something like this possible in MODx, or would I be better off using WordPress? This would be my first MODx site.

      Welcome aboard.

How many vehicles are we talking about? 3,000, 300, or 30? If it is closer to 30 than your best bet is using MODx with the Ditto snippet. Create a some Template Variables for the fields for each vehicle and a template for the detail page.

Check out these links for more info on Ditto
