    Hi,
I’m currently taking over the management of a website that is built using iframes.
Now, I can rebuild using normal HTML and css, but time wise it seems fair to try and use the original site but use Modx to manage.

But how? The site is located at http://www.gooischerun.nl/
i would normally make a template and put text for all pages in the content fields.
How would this work with iframes?
Should I use the main document as the template and take the original html Iframe files as content?

    Any help appreciated!

Anyone? A pointer maybe? Altough I absolutely hate the fact that I am going to use iframes, it does have an appealing effect: the page doesn’t refresh and therefore the header image + menu stays visible.
Is there another way (without using iframes) to accomplish this?

      Thanks!

Make one template with the iframes, build a menu that loads the links inside the iframe.
Then for the other pages build a template that has the design for inside the iframe.

Isn’t it easier and better (for seo) to replace the iframe part and just put in normal content on that place? Shouldn’t be that much work.
          with regards,

          Hi Mediaguy,

Thanks for replying. I’d agree with you that re-creating the site in a typical way is not that hard (actually, I’m half way). However, the iframes has an nice view to it that the page doesn’t refresh.
I’m not sure how to create a similar effect without using iframes.

I could resort to a jquery Taconite plugin, but I’m not sure that that’s also SEO friendly.
