Hi,
Is there an easy way to export pages from one MODx website with TVs and import it into another MODx website?
Does anyone have any ideas on this?
I suppose it must be possible by manipulating the database directly?
Many thanks for the reply but I’m not looking to move the entire site just some of the pages, I say "some" we’re talking several hundred. That’s why I’m hoping there is a process I can use to move them in bulk.
I see, I don’t know if it’s possible. I’d love to move Tvs from one website to another. Usually I have to create them again for every website.
I surpose you could copy both databases to a local machine.(backup both databases first)
Different dirs or names.
Export *pages* table from old using PHPmyadmin.
Delete not required pages.
Import *pages* into new database existing table and copy back to server (with correct name if changed)
If it does not work you still have your backup(hope you made it)
DEVELOPMENT ENV:- Ubuntu 12.04 | MODx Revolution 2.2.8 | LAMP 2i Apache 2.2.22 | Php 5.3.10 | Mysql 5.5.31 MySQL client version: 5.5.31
you can try to import/export with fast-content-csv.
exporting to csv can you also do with ditto.
template example:
[+id+];[+parent+];[+pagetitle+];[+content+]...................
Thanks Bruno and Allanb I’ll have to take a look at those options. I think it could be difficult to carry over the TVs so the CSV route might be our best bet.
