    Hi Gurus

Can Modx be used as a DMS ?

How does it compare with Joomla ?

Can Modx help with search on pdf documents ?

Can Modx support drag-and-drop a file from the tree directory structure from the left screen onto the screen on the right if
the browser is partitioned into two halves ?

I’m looking to use a DMS/CMS to create a simple document management tool to be used on the internet, not intranet.

If Modx is not a good fit, could you recommend a couple for me to look into ?

Thank you very much for your attention.

Too many questions in a post will usually result in no answers given.

My 2 cents on using MODx as a DMS.

MODx evo was not developed to be a DMS (document management system). It was was designed as a CMS. There are significant differences in the functionality required for a DMS. You could use it to present content, but managing external documents, document revisions, and document content indexing/searching is not in it’s feature set.

I would suggest you look at products designed to service those requirements if in fact thats what you need.

Revo on the other hand does support Static Resources (files on the filesystem) so it’s a much better starting point...
