I wrote a plugin and snippet that automatically generates a tweet each time I add a new article to my site. The plugin is hooked to the ’OnDocFormSave’ event. It creates a short url that starts with an underscore, adds the short url and full URL to a data table, and posts the tweet.
The tweet consists of a short introduction, the Page Title and the short url.
A redirect in the .htaccess sends everything starting with an underscore to the snippet. The snippet looks up the full URL and sends a 301 to the full URL.
