Everytime I go to login (as the admin), I have to reset the password. Is there some setting I need to adjust?

No, as long as you are using the correct login and password it will work. It is case-sensitive; upper/lower case matters.
Are you using non-alphanumeric characters? I have often had problems with passwords set using characters from language groups that my keyboard doesn’t support (such as the UK "pound" character).
How, exactly, are you resetting the password? Directly in the database? If so, are you sure you are applying the MD5 function to the password you are entering in the database?
