Hello,
I am trying to use Modx to set up a blog that users can login and post to a written article. I am using 1.0.4 version of modx. I am looking for some tutorials and additional information that would show me how to best set it up. If you know of any good information please let me know.

So you basically want a commenting feature? Use Jot. You can log in to my site’s manager (link below) and examine the "From the Inside" and "Comments" categories of chunks and snippets to see how I’ve implemented a very basic Jot commenting feature. The resources involved are under #47, "An In-depth Look at How MODx Works".
Once you set up your templates and Resource Tree structure, you can easily use QuickManager to add/edit articles from the front-end.
