[Revo] Tab order control in Form Customization

Does anyone know if there’s a way to control the order of the tabs for a resource edit view using Form Customization rules?

If you are using 2.0.6, it appears that the order the custom tabs are listed (top to bottom) on the ’form customization’ > ’___profile name___ edit’ > ’___action___ edit’ > ’tabs’ tab are the reverse order they appear in the create/update resource view. A drag and drop reorder would be a big help.

After playing around a bit more, it appears that if you update the tab title and save, the custom tab will move to the top of the custom tabs list, but still below any default tabs.

@andybaughman: My apologies for not replying sooner and saying thanks! I know Form Customization has been revamped in the latest version of Revo... have you gotten the hang of it yet? I see that you can move stuff around like you could with ManagerManager in Evo but there’s still a bit of a learning curve. What I’d love to be able to do for a client is to have all content fields and high level page settings on the default tab and then put all the other stuff they’re usually not going to need to touch regularly in the actual Settings tab. I’m still bummed that TVs are tied to their own tab. I wish they still showed up below the main content area. Speaking of which, does the fact that the RTE content area is always at the bottom for every tab bug anybody else? Ok... I got off topic... surry. I think I need to go look at the Form Customization info in rtfm. Hopefully it’s filled out a bit more. Please chime in if anyone knows of a great resource elsewhere for grasping Form Customization!

I also meant to mention that I was able to move TVs in Form Customization (a lot easier now for sure) but unfortunately they don’t retain their tidy sub tab organization based on categories. And their layout is sloppy. Maybe this will be updated in future versions. I realize I’m being über picky.

@brianlarson - You can hide the RTE content area by unchecking the ’modx-resource-content’ checkbox as described on http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/FC-Resource#FC-Resource-HidingtheContentField and discussed in http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=58340.0.

Moving template variables to tabs is fairly simple once you setup the necessary customization rules/restrictions and find the right page in the manager. The documentation covers it pretty well - http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Move+TV+to+Tab. I had issues with moving tvs to tabs in 2.0.5, but 2.0.6 is much better. Though I am discovering other issues in addition to the ones listed in this post in 2.0.6...
