Installing Modx to work with xampp lite

I am looking for detailed instructions that will outline how to install Modx to work with xampp lite as a local server. Any help would be appreciated as I am a newbie at this!

supposed you mean Evo: You just have to unzip the downloaded file modx-1.0.4.zip.
You get a folder modx-1.0.4. Copy this complete folder into the folder htdocs/ of your xampp lite installation.
Open your Browser, invoke localhost/modx-1.0.4/install/ and follow the instructions. That’s it!

Just a thought, why you select XAMPP Lite?

From what I found it seemed like xampp was the server of choice for Modx. Thanks for the help ottogal!

I’ve worked with XAMPP and MAMP, and for some reason that I really can’t explain I prefer MAMP. Even if it doesn’t have zip compiled in

I was actually asking why using a lite version for XAMPP, thats probably not upgradeable to next XAMPP upgrade. Instead I would use XAMPP full.
