I can’t delete the install folder after installation- do you know why this is? A message keeps coming up saying "unable to delete the file".

Sounds like a permissions issue. What are the permissions of the folder? Who’s your host?
Hi, 000webhost is my host provider.
I’ve tried changing the permission to 0700, but I still can’t delete it...
It was originally at 0755, I think...

Try changing to 777, then delete.
That doesn’t work either...
Did you upload the files via ftp or another way?
Maybe your hoster offers a config tool thats able to delete files?

Hi, I used filezilla, and I’ve tried deleting the install folder via my website host providers file uploader, but that also doesn’t work.
I don’t know what’s happened, as the first time I installed modx, I actually was able to delete the folder...
Don’t beat me... but are you shure, the folder is still there? Sometimes the FTP clients cache the folder views and you have to refresh...
Can you see the owner of the folder in FileZilla?
Maybe you have to change this first to the FTP user and then retry to delete.

Who is the owner of the file? Usually FTP clients will show permissions and ownership of a file. I’ve had some weird experiences when the ownership of a file/folder got changed so I was unable to delete. I had to first change the owner...
... refreshing the cache is a good idea too... maybe it has been deleted...
