Document Permissions - Hopefully and Easy Answer?

I’m moving a site from Frontpage (ugh) to modX. I’ve created all of the documents and I’m trying to lock down a section to ’members only’ but am having a problem making them accessible only to registered members.

I’ve read the documentation and I think I’m doing it right, but something’s definitely not right.

1) Created a web user group called ’members’
2) Created a document group called ’members’
3) Linked the two together.
4) Set all of the Member Only pages to the document group ’members’

All of the documents are still visible without logging in.

I figure I’m missing something obvious...can anyone help?

Weird....it looks like it started working without me changing anything else. Can someone else verify they can’t get into any of the pages in the ’Member Main’ area?

Well, it looks okay what you did to set the permissions up.

I tested it for you and for some reason, I can get doc ID 87 (which in your screenshot, it should be protected but you may have changed that since taking the screenshot). Clicking on any of the links on that page displays the homepage, which I assume is what you have your unauthorised page set to in the site configuration. So, all in all, it seems to be working as intended to me.

you probably already have but after I make any changes I clear the cache then close & reopen the browser...

Thanks...I appreciate it. This is my first modX project. A friend turned me onto it...and I think it’s a great product. Just need a little more experience under my belt...
