Help me make NEWS Articles Listing pages in MODx

Hello,

I have a couple of simple websites and I’m thinking of taking the MODx plunge to convert them. I have been reading the manuals and tried the blog examples (that don’t work) and tried disabling the comments on the blog example (I failed).

I don’t need a blog. I don’t need the comments.
I just need straight NEWS article posting that is easy to do.

I already know how to do static web site pages in different templates in MODx. Very easy. Thanks MODx.

But please, please tell me how to just make news like this example:
http://www.eczemacure.info/news-&-updates/

Just list the articles like so with the first paragraph / intro with >> read more.

Then at the bottom, a working function that goes to the next page of news articles, then more articles.

Please. please. please. please. If I get to do this. I promise to migrate 10 websites to MODx.

The only difference between a blog and the newslisting page you talk of is a lack of comments.

You will need to create a document with a Ditto call on the page you want to show the articles on.
You will need to create some documents under your news and stuff articles.
You need to look at adding pagination to the ditto page.

There is more to this but the simplest way to figure this is to do an install MODx with the default sample/database.
