I have an existing site the owner
wants to convert to a CMS so he
can easily make some small modifications
to the text and add pdf files for
users to download.
The site has maybe 50 pages of html and
a bunch of jpegs.
I thought I would give Modx a try. I notice
there is an "Import Html" files command and
I uploaded a small subset of the site to see
how that would work. I was hoping this would
be an easy short cut to getting things going
fast.
I guess the next step is to fix irregularities on
each page and gradually bring the site into
the modx way of doing things.
I wonder if anyone has any tips on moving forward
here and I’m trying to make sure I am heading in the
right direction.
One thing that would be handy with the Import Html
function would be to pass it a pattern that it would
use to filter out parts of the page, like a logo that appears
on each page. I know that the CMS xaraya does this.
