Following basic typographic rules

Is it possible to make MODx replace some symbols in order to follow basic typographic rules. E.g.,
“that’s”, “it’s” => “that’s”, “it’s”
"quote" => “quote”
“here - em dash” => “here—em dash”

You could write a plugin to do that dynamically indeed.

Just someone should adopt it.

It’s done already. Well, almost. There is already the Markdown plugin and it’s really easy to modify it to use SmartyPants. This is what I’ve done at last.

BTW. There’s a new version of Markdown and Markdown Extra and that reminds me of the need to refactore the plugin to meet the standards . Another item on the list...
