    Is it possible to make MODx replace some symbols in order to follow basic typographic rules. E.g.,
    “that’s”, “it’s” => “that’s”, “it’s”
    "quote" => “quote”
    “here - em dash” => “here—em dash”

          It’s done already. Well, almost. There is already the Markdown plugin and it’s really easy to modify it to use SmartyPants. This is what I’ve done at last.

          BTW. There’s a new version of Markdown and Markdown Extra and that reminds me of the need to refactore the plugin to meet the standards wink . Another item on the list...
