I just did a fresh install on Bluehost of Evo 1.0.2, using SimpleScripts (no sample data installed). Yet unlike a couple of weeks ago it only installed a few snippets under the Content, Login and Search categories. And, for example, while the Wayfinder folder was there, Wayfinder was not set up as a snippet under Manage Elements | Snippets
I’m pretty certain that there are a bunch more snippets that should be installed but wanted to check here first. Has the installer changed or am I otherwise mistaken? Has anyone else had this problem?
Obviously a call to BH is in order, but I wanted to check here first.
TIA,
MattC
Update : I’ve since talked to Bluehost and they can see nothing amiss regarding the install process on their side. They suggest that a new script could have been provided to SimpleScripts even though the version number had not changed.
By comparison, when I do an install of version 1.0.0 I get a full complement of snippets. But when I redo the install of v 1.0.2 I only get the following snippets :
Ditto, Jot, Reflect
MemberCheck, WebSignup
AjaxSearch
For chunks, all I have are
mm_demo_rules
WebLoginSidebar
Can someone else who uses Bluehost verify that a) this is not complete for a fresh install and b) that they see the same thing? I’ve tried fresh installs of v1.0.2 about six times in the last week and each time it’s the same.
Thanks to anyone who provide some perspective.

Bluehost doesn’t write the install scripts, SimpleScripts does.

Thanks for the replies.
I’ve sent an email to SimpleScripts to see what they have to say. But given that their contact page says they don’t provide technical support, I’m not optimistic that I’ll get a constructive response. Whatever reply I do get I will relay ...

Just a quick update. I am still dancing around with Bluehost on this, with their having to turn to the script developer to figure out what is up. When one does a default install (e.g. include the sample data) one will notice that the navigation menu and a few other things don’t exist. This is because the Wayfinder snippet is not installed, along with 9 others.
Looking at the database in phpmyadmin shows that there is also a discrepancy with the number of entries in the modx_system_settings table. The default should have 97 entries it appears. An install on Bluehost today only had 77. So at the moment I have no confidence that installing MODx 1.0.2 via SimpleScripts on Bluehost won’t create a lot of problems. Yes, of course you can still install it manually. But the point is that if you just went via the script, you would not know that there appears to be an error getting thrown. It doesn’t come up on the screen and there doesn’t seem to be any record of it in logs.
(This isn’t a reflection on MODx or Bluehost, but instead on SimpleScripts. At least in my case.)

I emailed the folks at Bluehost regarding the status of this issue. Here is the reply :
We are sorry, this unfortunately has not been rolled out and we do not have an ETA on when this fix will be put in place. I would recommend periodically testing installs of this script until this issue has been resolved.
Has anyone else used Bluehost recently and noticed this problem or is it just me?
It might be time for me to start looking into a MODx-friendly alternative host, just for diversification sake ...

That’s too bad. I’ve had really good luck with Bluehost in the past. I hope they come through on this because it’s really convenient to not just install MODx, but to update it via SimpleScripts.

Ben (of SimpleScripts) is checking into it. Apparently a couple of changes occurred a couple of days ago.
