BTW BobRay, the 0.9.7 documentation will include Tutorials and User Guides (in DocBook format) interlinked with the traditional JavaDoc-style programmer’s documentation. I’m working on a way that these DocBook pages of tutorial or other extended documentation (typically using refentry as top level DocBook tag) could be used to "seed" the Wiki documentation with each release, and user contributions could be ported back into the official DocBook pages pending review from a contributing team member. There have been some efforts by others already to import/export DocBook XML with MediaWiki, so this shouldn’t be too terribly difficult to accomplish.

That sounds like it might help a lot, although I worry that the Wiki may end up littered with outdated info.
I’m, once again, showing great restraint by not asking when 0.9.7 might appear.

You see this already but I think once the new documentation comes out and the community has a stable core to base their writing on then people will be able to get into the WIki to keep it current. The only way the wiki will work is through user contributions, maintenance and monitoring.
I am currently working on a few posts for it but I would like people to get to know that posting to the Wiki is a great contribution to the project even if you can’t contribute to MODx directly as much as answering newb questions in the forums helps, documenting solutions to problems in the wiki will make it easier for people to find those answers even if those answers just point people in the right direction to solving their problem.
All the best,

Has anyone created a screencast of the basic Modx admin functions and features? I think that would be great to give clients that would like to learn how to use the system in a more visual way. Thanks!

Matt

See http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Portable_documentation
Is that PDF-documentation updated or sincronized with the HTML on line version??
Thank you in advance.
It should be the same as the current documentation in modxcms.com yes..

Hi there, it seems the wiki modxcms is down :-(, i am new to this and was starting reading it yesterday but it is down for the last few hours :-(....
Is there anywhere i can learn this? i have searched for the book but seems won’t be ready in a few months time.
The site in my sig has some information and links to sites other than the Wiki.
Welcome to MODx.
I haven’t been here since the site got redesigned.
I’m trying to find documentation on Wayfinder and searching the wiki produces nothing.
There used to be extended pages for all these common plugins covering variables, templates, how to use, etc.
This new documentation needs a lot of work
